Overview

Vietnam’s economy is showing a strong recovery with a forecast growth rate of 7% in 2024 (update), returning to the pre-pandemic growth trajectory. The government’s efforts in implementing monetary and fiscal policies, reforming the business environment, along with the efforts of Vietnamese enterprises, have produced positive results. Manufacturing, processing industries, especially electronics exports and tourism, are key drivers of growth.

However, the economic development picture is uneven. While FDI and state-owned enterprises have led the recovery, private enterprises, an important force in the Vietnamese economy, have recovered more slowly. “Bottlenecks” in capital, technology and quality human resources are once again being challenged as businesses face post-pandemic difficulties and global instability, impacting their resilience and ability to accelerate growth.
Meanwhile, 2025 is projected to continue to be a year of volatility. Global economic growth is expected to recover, but risks from uncertainties, trade protectionism, and monetary policy reversals will directly impact global business strategies. At the same time, the results from the transformation of the growth model and the recovery efforts of Vietnamese businesses will become increasingly apparent in 2025.
In order to help Vietnamese businesses identify challenges and opportunities in the new business context, Forbes Vietnam organizes the conference “Boosting inner strength, leading growth”. The first event of Forbes Vietnam in 2025 is exclusively for business founders, chairpersons, and leaders of top companies. Speakers and VIP guests will come together to share and discuss solutions aimed at enhancing the intrinsic strength of Vietnamese businesses as well as bring businesses back to the leading position of growth.

The re-election of former US President Donald Trump is expected to have a far-reaching impact on the global economy, especially in the areas of trade, investment, financial and monetary policies. As an economy deeply integrated into the international market, Vietnam will be affected by these changes, including protectionist policies, tariffs, export conditions, trade relations with neighboring countries and FDI flows.
